I have been fortunate enough to be a school counselor for CVUSD for over 17 years. I originally was hired to help start our Elementary School Counseling Program which is still a sense of pride for our district. Three years ago, I had the opportunity to come over to Sycamore Canyon. I not only brought myself over here, but I also brought my two sons Cade and Connor over here. It has been an incredible experience having my boys attend the same school that I work at! They are now attending NPHS. I strongly believe that each child has their own unique gifts and talents. One of my favorite things I get to do is run the Coyote Peer Program. I get the chance to mentor 30 youth every year. They learn how to be strong leaders around school, learn conflict resolution skills, and how to make a positive difference around campus. I get the honor of taking them to camp twice a year where they learn these skills. These students give back in incredible ways like helping to facilitate our 5th grade STAND PROUD program, work on the elementary yard teaching our young ones how to be good sports, and even tutoring some of our elementary students. I am an incredibly open counselor, so reach out to me with any questions or concerns.
A little about me: Our family loves to explore the beautifully rich lands of the world. Whether it is snorkeling in the Caribbean, ziplining in the jungles of Costa Rica, or taking our RV on a road trip throughout the states- we are always up for an adventure. We always take time to backpack in the state parks and dibble our toes in the Pacific Ocean. I am heavily involved with the All it Takes non-profit organization that helps take our 7th graders to camp every year and provides family adoptions during the holidays. Giving back is a priority in our home. On the weekends, you will usually find me on the sidelines cheering on my sons’ lacrosse or football games. I have been married to my husband, Shawn, for 20 years and counting!
